I started working with the Foodco Group in 1992 when we opened Australia’s first Jamaica Blue franchise café. It was a fresh and exciting concept and although a little scary at the time to delve into a brand that was new to the marketplace, I’d had enough of working for others and yearned to be my own boss.

To be frank, Foodco and I got on like a house on fire and in 2007 I purchased my second Foodco franchise at Erina Fair on the Central Coast of NSW, where I still own and manage a Muffin Break café.

I’m lucky to have found great success with both stores which have certainly demanded my blood, sweat and tears. Owning and operating your own business is by no means easy. It demands dedication, regular reinvention and a strong support system. It’s comforting to know I have that support with Foodco’s team of qualified experts, who don’t dictate how I run my business but rather, work with me to ensure its long-term success.

As a former McDonald’s employee, I had a fair idea of the food franchise sector when it came time for me to open my own business. I was attracted to the muffin and coffee concept and knew I wanted to work with a franchisor that’s small enough to have a family feel to it but still big enough to support my business in all its various areas.

I’ve got that with Foodco –two-fold actually! I’ve opened two Muffin Break cafés within the past 10 years and they’re both going strong. The products we sell are quality products and that’s one of the main reasons our customers come back to Muffin Break. Also, it’s wonderful to work with people who are so passionate and determined to see my businesses continue to grow.
